Trying to help a friend who has a 2006 RG. Bike has been sitting for some time. Charged the battery and it fired right up. Went to start it again the next day, and it just cranked over. Never fired. Tried again, no start.
Put 2 gallons of gas in. Sprayed some brake cleaner in the intake and it would fire only while being sprayed. He tried it again next day and it fired right up like normal and then after a few minutes it died and would not restart.
Today, no go again. I pulled the gas cap and I can hear the fuel pump buzzing for a few seconds. Pulled the fuel line at the tank and gas is there. Going back with a fuel pressure gauge next few days. Not sure what to think
since I hear the pump running. Pressure regulator? What have you guys experienced?
Thanks

You didnt say how long it sat but most likely its a clogged fuel system (very common on bikes that sat). Its possible the fuel pump is failing but start here.Old gas turns to varnish and gums things up:
The "convoluted" fuel line from the fuel pump is in the tank. They are known to crack and then you can't get fuel delivery. If the crack is above the fuel level in the tank, you will be sucking air. Buy a new fuel filter kit from HD, comes with the filter, gasket and new line. Clogged filter or cracked line could be the issue. The kit does not come with enough hose clamps, buy one extra, good luck.
