Scared the crap out of me. Started wandering while getting on the freeway. I pulled over got a tow. Pulled the axle out, ball bearings fell out. One side only (pulley side).
There appears to be some galling on the wheel itself (pictures included). Anyone think I'm screwed and will need a new wheel? I bought the new bearings and a new internal spacer.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, but, unless I miss my guess, there's still part of the old bearing in there, right?
you are correct. The outer part hasnt been removed yet. I thought the rough part in the photo was the actual wheel but maybe Im mistaken- hopefully

yeah. Thats how it felt to me with the addition of a lot of noises. Not fun.
