Went to take a look at a 2013 SG yesterday. Low k's - but boy, was it butchered to say the least. Front fender wasn't lined up - aftermarket streached tank/side covers. Aftermarket stretched bags with speaker cut outs (never seen 6.5 cut outs). Wires exposed on the neck (think there should be covers there) Engine light was on...bunch of codes.
I need some guidance. Should I run away, or try and get a smoking deal on it and bring her back to life?
If it was me - I'd pass. Just not worth my time, work or frustration. Computer bikes are a real PITA to diagnose and fix. Can get $$$$ too. Just my 2 nickels of thought.
That code list looks like someone unplugged the harness while the switch was on, it is literally every sensor code. Might not be a huge deal.
What is up with that fender? Is it on backwards? That is crazy looking.
Just depends on the deal. If you are looking for a project, and can get the deal of a lifetime...Maybe?
That was my thoughts - the bars have been changed, and if the rest of the work on the bike is any indication of how it was completed, could just be that 🤦🏻
I'm hoping it's what it is...put on backwards...cause if not, I may have a whole other issue with the mounting brackets.
Any idea what the active codes could be? I know one may be dude to the throttle wire cable under the seat. I remember the seller saying something about the guy he bought it from doing a stage 2 but did not do the tune?? That didn't make sense.
