2024 TRI GLIDE 290 miles.... Oil change soon or...
Hi all,
I just acquired a 2024 Tri Glide with about 280 original miles on it. In a couple weeks I plan on a trip that will cover about 1500/2000 miles. I can put some miles on it before we take off... but changing the oil at approximately 400/500 miles I can do. I assume I should do that at whatever miles I have on it instead of waiting until I get back from this trip! I'm pretty sure I know the answer but just want other opinions...
On another note... Has anyone mounted an oil filter relocation setup on their TG? I put a Dan Moore (Moore Sensible Products) on my Road King and loved it!!!! It was awesome. Not fuss/No mess. But he is no longer in business. Any other product out there for an adapter and relocation for oil filters that you recommend?
I believe I would go 1500 miles before I would 500 on that first oil change. The idea is that everything is wearing in for the first 1000 miles and you want to get the debris out of the oil after it has worn in. You could get it done on the road I guess but I don't think 500 miles is enough, actually I suppose you could just change the filter at 500 and then go to normal oil change intervals.
Definitely the DK Customs oil filter relocation kit.
It's easy, no mess and extremely well made kit.
The oil filter itself is up to you, but I choose the Figurati Designs reusable oil filter.
