Default 2023.5 & Newer Touring Models - CEL

Good afternoon, have a 2024 Street Glide. I have owned it for about a year now. I’ve had 4 Check Engine Lights come on.

late last year I was riding 4 hours through interstate 20 when the CEL came on. No issues making it to my destination. Upon restarting bike CEL went away and no issues making the it back home.

Fast forward, got a Limp mode that happens while riding. Harley says it’s probably an issue with my throttle cable connection but per their service history they did not “repair” anything and just readjusted and cleared codes.

Two months later about two weeks ago was riding and CEL came on with no codes. No issues while riding. CEL went away. This morning went to go turn it on and CEL is back on with no codes.

has anyone experienced anything like this, could it be a Skyline OS glitch? Not accounting for the limp mode I’m sure something was wrong at the time but why am I getting CEL with no codes? Harley hasn’t given me any information at the dealership

EAS .. Early Adopter Syndrome..best advice I could offer is to be sure every TSB, Recall and OS updates are current as a new baseline then go from there… they have been a mess

I have the RCL:24-26 MKE8 AIRBOX BASEPLATE recall on my HD app. I’ll get it scheduled to get checked out and have them run tests on it AGAIN. lol

Make sure to do ignition coil harness TSB, it's been known to throw mysterious CELs.

100%. I went ahead and snipped the zip tie as soon as people started having issues. The drive train has become very noisy so I might have them keep the bike a while and do new lifters and pushrods. Maybe throw a cam in there while it’s opened

I started a thread on this subject:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/2024-...l#post22268735

My bike is currently in the shop for treatment of this condition!

When I get it back, I intend to post a follow up!

I have noticed several other thread on this same subject!

MJWEBB shared a copy of his invoice that actually went into some pretty good detail on the trouble shooting process his dealership went through:
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/2024-...l#post22268892

I am beginning to think this may be a more pervasive issue than originally thought!

Snipping zip tie is no guarantee. I've snipped on mine in first week of ownership. an it still happened to me at around 5k mark. Just tell dealer to actually replace it.

Thanks for the info. I’ve attached a “Description “ of last service visit. They do not present what the problem was or what was done but does describe the codes I had when I went it dated to 03/07-03/26

P151100, P213500, C110000, P110000

yeah, it wasn't the 'root cause' , just a somewhat reasonable / plausible explanation of what might have contributed to the problem..when it happened on my 2024 RG it gave a code of Ignition Coil XXXX and they replaced the IC..but that happened before the TSB came out explaining the coil wire repair kit was what was needed to fix the true problem, which wasn't because of the zip tie bend. FF to my 2025 RG and it occurred and gave another code and after a detailed troubleshooting effort by our master Tech, the repair kit was prescribed, applied and so far so good for a couple thousand miles now

Thank God Harley doesn't make airplanes...I really should make that my signature here
