Default Where might this be from..??

I pulled my primary cover this morning and found this very slender spring adhering to the magnetic tip of the primary drain plug.
Anyone have an idea where it might have come from..?

So far, I’ve pulled the compensator sprocket/chain/ clutch as a “ unit”, no idea from there.
Thanks.

My guess is the oil seal at the Inner Primary Bearing.

If your bike is old enough to have a seal for the starter jackshaft, the spring from it would be my guess, but it would of had to been dislodged on assembly.

Sorry for the incomplete entry.
The bike is a 1985 FXRS.

Oil seal lip garder spring tensioner.

As long as it's not leaking, would not concer me. Eventually, as the lip seal wears a groove deeper, it will start to wick past the seal. (Soft laps hard)

Just monitor it.

Now if you planned a cross country trip, replace all the seals and cover gaskets.

Not a Harley but to help post make sense.

If its grooved, try to seat seal in a slightly different position if possible..

There are a lot of different size shaft saver SS sleeves. Not sure if there is an application for your bike.

Them sprocket shaft seal on an 85 FXR Evo faces inward so I doubt it's the spring for that seal.. I would be checking the trans shaft seal on the inner primary..
