Has anyone run into this issue. Its happened on both my 21 CVO and on my new 25 trike. Its the bolt attached to the upper dog bone. Engine stabilizer.
Yes, while I was on a trip 2 years ago I noticed a squeak when the engine decelerated, turns out that part was broken (the nut that is welded on was gone).
I called the local dealer (HD of Hartford CT), they overnighted the part and replaced it the next morning (the machine was still under warranty at the time).
No issues with the same part on my `19 Electra Glide Standard.

I had the same problem pencil wipping the maintenance check list. I new that the spark plug wire was damaged and going in for service so I let the service dept look for it and behold checked it off and said it was ok and I called them out on it that is faulty. Do you know the service writer gave me the hard time for not pointing it out. I bought 2 new wires there and installed them myself in front of the garage and left the bad ones there on the ground. This is why you have to be mechanic sometimes cause you cannot trust no one
Pencil Whipping is a term I haven't heard in a long time. I know exactly what it means but in my 26 yrs in the Air Force and most of that working on Jets, I didn't do it. I worked weapons and weapon system and the ramifications were too costly. However, a Tech at the local dealership that may be disgruntled or not making what he/she believes that should make, is ripe for "Pencil Whipping" a checklist. Not saying the all do it, as I believe integrity is not dead yet but maybe not as prevalent in the workforce as it once was.
