Default Yuasa 500 amp battery

Now that this thing has been out awhile now, what are the opinions on it ?
Good ,bad, over priced, short life or waste of money. I have been running the Deka Big Crank in many of my bikes with good service.

All Yuasa batteries have treated me well. It's my go to brand when I need a replacement.

However, Yuasa has different models. They also make batteries for other labels.

I exclusively buy the Yuasa GYZxxHL series batteries and I have had really good luck with them.

I buy the GYZ32HL for my Baggers and the GYZ20HL for my Softails...

FWIW-
The GYZ series is their premium model. A slightly more affordable option, with some less quality components/design, is their YTX series of batteries. The YTX series is their standard model.

"The primary difference between the Yuasa GYZ Series and YTX Series batteries is that the GYZ series is Yuasa's premium, high-output upgrade line, while the YTX series is their industry-standard, reliable workhorse line. Both use Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) technology, but they target different performance needs.
Power and Capacity
  • GYZ Series: Built with taller internal plates to maximize active material surface area. This design delivers up to 10% to 15% higher Cold Cranking Amps (CCA) and higher Amp Hour (Ah) capacity than a same-sized standard battery. It is engineered for large touring bikes, V-Twins, and powersports with heavy electronic loads.
  • YTX Series: Offers standard OEM-spec cranking amps and capacity. It provides reliable, balanced starting power for daily riding without massive electrical demands."

I bought a used Softail with a Yuasa YTX series, but under a different label (Interstate Battery, Cycle-Tron plus High Performance Battery), and it was a good, long lasting battery on that OEM bike application. I use the GYZ as they have better components/design, and most of my bikes have performance mods.

The Yuasa 500 cca bagger battery is a great choice. I have one in both of my bikes. One is about four years old, the other is about six years old. Both strong. The six year old battery cranks over a 124" Twin Cam with ease.

I put the 500A Yuasa GYZ32HL into my ‘14 Ultra Limited in November ‘23 and it’s still going strong (knock on wood). Prior to doing so, I was a big fan of the 400A Big Crank ETX-30L.

Living in Texas, I ride year round and, when not riding, my bike lives in an unconditioned garage where summer daytime temperatures can get above 100°F. Because of that, I’m lucky to get 3 years from a battery. Time will tell if I do better with the Yuasa, but I doubt I will. If I don’t, I’ll go back to the Big Crank.

I put a Yuasa YIX30L in my 2017 Road Glide after fighting with a terrible NOCO lithium battery that just wanted to die. The Yuasa has been flawless since I put it in a few months ago.

Installed a Yuasa GYZ32HL in my 2019 RG 18 months ago. So far it's performing very well, and she cranks with authority every time I start it. I live in FL, and was going through the HD batteries about every 24 months. I'm hoping this Yuasa will last longer. So far so good.

I've been looking at these, but have never tried them yet. https://www.bigtimebattery.com/store...s-battery.html They have the same 500 CCA, but also have a 4 year warranty compared the Yuasa's 6 month warranty.

The warranty on your GS Yuasa battery is administered by the reseller or distributor who sold you the battery.
While GS Yuasa provides a one-year warranty as standard, many of our resellers may choose to extend this warranty period to match the specifications of the product and the local aftermarket. The exact warranty period should be confirmed with your reseller at the time of purchase.

From Yuasa website.
