Oh the pain, the pain...

I *did* find out though that one of the damn spacers I was using, was a spare I had and didn't need to be in there at all. I also found out that the o-ring had a burr on it that was making it almost impossible to go in the axle.
Talk about frustrated and dejected. I'm so angry that I'm going to try the solid rim again, since I have to take the tire off the spoke rim anyway. Sometimes I feel like I could screw up a wet dream. Much of it though is from the pain I'm in 24/7, but the catch 22 is, I can't afford to have it done and there's no indies around here and the closest dealership I'm sure won't work on such an old bike ('97 FLSTC). Oh well, life in the woods. I don't know why this front tire and wheel combo is giving me so much hassle, it's pretty much the same setup as was on my '98 Dyna, and that was a breeze to work on.
Today is going to be even hotter and same high humidity, lol. Bring it on!!
Test fit the solid rim without the tire on it.
So you're not fighting it the whole time, get the spacing correct on the rotor side first, don't even put a spacer on the other side yet.
Once the rotor is positioned in the brake caliper correct, measure what you need for the other side.
Good luck.
edit; and if you have that fake drum brake looking dog bowl, remove the snap ring and just use the spacer part if needed, it's useless and just in the way, I personally don't like the look of it.
