Default Looking to upgrade, need input from shorter riders please

Ok. as stated in the title. I am thinking about upgrading my bike.
I currently ride an 08 ultra classic. I like the bike. But it is time to upgrade. I am looking in the 15-16 year range.
I am a shorter person (5'6" with an inseam of 32) I mostly do back road riding. There is a lot of farm country here in Wisconsin. Wind whips off the fields pretty good at times.

I am contemplating going with a Road glide this time. Mainly because I am getting tired of the wind buffeting from the Ultra. So much so that I hate hitting the highway at times.
But my problem is this. I have sat on my friend 16 and I have a problem seeing over the windscreen.
Has any of the shorter people out there lowered the fairing on the road glide? And how did that work for road view and wind?

Let me know your opinions. I plan on riding a road glide here soon. hard to find one that is lowered. But just wanted to see what you all thought.
Thank you

You and I are the same height and inseam. I had a 2015 ultra limited for years. I set it up with a mustang reduced reach seat. KST customs reduced reach bagger bar. The best bar I have ever had. For the wind buffeting. I used the KST customs wind deflectors. They mount to the gas tank mount bolts. For the windshield an 8 inch F4. The F4 has no distortion so if you wind up looking thru at times. You still have clear vision.
I have also owned a 2023 road glide special. People can have different experiences based on the bike set up. I never enjoyed the road glide riding experience. It only a week to get use to the fairing height difference. As much as I did on the limited. The limited fit my frame size better.
when it was time to upgrade. I bought a 2026 street glide limited. Back to KST customs reduced reach bagger bar. If you can swing it check out the new limited. No buffeting at any speed. The bars were the only ergonomic changes necessary. I honestly don’t see how anyone over 5’-8” could be comfortable on the new design.
