Conventional for sure, looks better and with the "chaps" on them its good for keeping wind/rain off your feet and lower legs.

Mustache bar for me on my Fatboy and Crossbones. It give the left leg a spot to hang out but the right leg needs another joint to get around the air cleaners. Both protect in a fall over(personally tested) and me thinks the mustache might be just a bit tougher with the extra bends. Makes setting the bike back up easier to.

My Heritage has a chrome mustache bar on it and I think it looks fine.

My vote would be for the nostalgic bars.

got mustache bars on my lo, i like the look as it sort of blends in with the boards and such, but some times i have thought about changing to classic bars but then again i think it would change the look, so it think its all down to preference, and like most people said, if its a simple drop then both with probably do the same but if its a big drop/slide/crash then they both will probably do the same or not really matter.

Default HD highway bar on FB

Hi, guys! After seeing so many terrific pictures, I decided on the conventional one, and got a genuin HD conventional highway bar from a local dealership for my FB. It looks great on the bike. Now, I have some installtion question. I once put it on the bike and ran half a day and remove it. I saw some gouged marks on the bike-side mount bracket, and this was caused by rough edges of the bar-side mount plate. The contact surface of the mount plate is not perfectly flat, and the edge is raised by 0.5 mm or so, probably due to a manufacturing process. I grinded the edge at right hand side and rust-proof painted it, which caused the biggest gouged mark. I'm thinking to grind all the remaing edge of the plate so that it won't gouge the bike-side bracket and I won't have any rust issue later on. How would you think of this? Any comment is appreciated.

Depends on the bike. I had a standard Lindby on my Deluxe and really liked it.
