Default Headlight replacement for 02 Fatboy....

The high beam finally burned out on my 12 yr old headlight. Anybody know of a long lasting 7" replacement? Btw, its the sealed beam H6024 style. Thanks!

I'll lurk here for a while.... I have a 2000 Fatboy and am disapointed with my light setup. Cant go too fast or I'll outrun my headlights...

Get a Hella or Candlepower H-4 7" headlamp for your bike. Best $40 I ever spent on lighting. I know lots of people will chime in and tell you to spend hundreds on LED lighting, but the H-4 conversions I mention work great and are affordable. Just make sure they're properly aimed.

Great idea, but can you tell me where you bought this for $40? Part numbers would be helpful too. Thanks again!

ok, please excuse the dumb questions, but teach a Noob something...

the 7" lights.... This not a "bulb" per se, but a complete 7" round light. correct?
Now does this 7" round light assembly insert into a light "framework"?

all 5 of my front lights have the chrome ring around them with a HD emblem, or will this 7" H-4 replace the chrome HD peices

dont know how to upload a pic on the PC. It's very easy with the Forum app's for smartphone, but I havent found this forum on Tapatalk

Chad, some older bikes have sealed beam headlights, which means you change the complete assembly including the lens. I've been hearing about a kit that converts the headlight into a 2-piece assembly where you have to insert the H4 filament bulb. HTH

Hey G, forgot to ask how long do these bulbs last? Have you had yours for any length of time? Thanks again!

Can't remember when I bought the lamp. It was probably 15 years ago. I just run H-4 bulbs from Auto Zone. I generally burn out a bulb every 5-6 years (50,000 miles or so). Remember, with this unit, you just replace the bulb. Makes it easy to pack a spare when you're traveling. Lots of choices in H-4 bulbs, too.

The "European" beam pattern of the lens/reflector also puts a lot more light on the road, where you need it, compared to the old sealed beam. You'll like it.
