Are any of you running true duals using the torque cones inside your head pipes? If not there will be a huge NOTICABLE drop in power and torque. You can buy stainless torque cones from Samson and others. Place them in the head pipe where it bolts on to the head with the body of the cone facing into the pipe. It makes a great difference. When I bought my Samson true duals a couple of years ago I didn't know about the cones, ran the bike for a week and almost returned them. Then a fellow rider told me about the cones. After they were put in, the power and torque were back and the bike runs strong. Haven't put the bike on a dyno yet but will wait until just before I start my 110" build this summer.
Oh, just for kicks and looks I wrapped my pipes in exhaust wrap a couple of weeks ago. Lot of difference in the amount of heat they put off when I'm sitting at a light or in traffic.
Check out my pics.

Do you think the end of the fishtails are the problem? I'll buy the cones if they really work.
Nikon, very interested in how it turns out for you. I am running these true duals and will be doing a BB similar to yours very soon. Once you get them on would like to hear of your impressions as far as HP/Tq issues. Like you, I can sacrifice a few ponies for the look. The fishtails are a little pricey, but they are nice. They are a little thicker and wider than the others I have seen from Samson.
