So I'm getting a trailer this weekend (mostly for storage) and I'm looking at getting a chock.
Just wondering if there is any real difference between the Harbor Freight ones for $40 and others for $150
HF tools could be low quality, use it and throw it type, especially cutting tools. This particular tool that look are considering is probably decent enough to use.
I got a little deal on the HD chock, i use it to park my bike, it is rock solid, since i have a pretty good slope i actually have to drive it in carefully, just to the balance point tipping in the tire cradle and let it roll in easy. The HD is pretty expensive but with the deal, and my projected use it is the one for my application.
I mounted one of the Condor units on my lift. It holds the bike very firmly. I do believe however that for a trailer, where the bike will be strapped down, a less expensive unit would work just fine.
this is what i use, its a harbor freight i think. it works great for trailering and as a stand. with the dough you save on the chock you can get some good steadymate ratcheting soft loop straps.
I paid around $175 for the used Condor Pit Stop and even though it's quality built and I have no lack of trust in it holding up my beloved Heritage, it is in no way worth $175, much less the $260 retail price.
I was looking at this and would be using it to hold the bike upright when sliding jack under it. Not looking to mount anything to the cement floor in the garage.
