I like your line of thinking. I found what seems to be a decent nostalgic windshield with a scratched up glass on ebay. I will try to get that cheap enough, then buy a 18" lsr clear shield. I downloaded the instructions from hd on a new nostalgic windshield and on page 4 it has the parts diagram and it shows the docking hardware and gives a part number for the kit. $50 something from surdyke hd. I am I wrong and this kit is not for quick release?
If I remember correctly the nostalgic hardware is the one that is arched across the top? And it only has 3 screws as opposed to 5? If that is correct, be sure to check if any of the aftermarket manufacturers make one to fit. I hope I'm wrong, but even Harley doesn't sell just the windshield for the nostalgic - figure that one out! I think you have to buy the whole rig.
Oops....A few years back I had a 2006 Heritage and at the time there where no options - Thanks for the new info. Do they offer just the "Fat" or both widths?
