I'm about to purchase hella e code reflector and 80w/100 watt bulb plus ceramic plug for my deuce. Has anyone else tried this set up on their deuce? Any problems with fuses blowing or other electrical problems do I have to notch the bucket or is the hella e code a direct swap Thanks

I had Cibie w an Osram 65/70 on my FXD. Got a relay kit from www.easternbeaver.com. Very bright and had no problems. The stock wiring will be marginal with that much bulb.
Have that setup nine years using a Cibie instead of Hella. No problems except the heat is intense inside a 5 1/2 shell with 80 watts on all day. The plug WILL burn up if plastic.
Is the hella housing a direct swap? Also the plastic plug will be connected to ceramic then to bulb am I ok with that setup or do I need to ditch plastic plug all together

Never heard of anyone having any problems using the ceramic connector, plugged into the stock plastic connector, with the higher wattage bulb, even with the stock headlight housing. I've been running that way on one of my bikes for about 2 years now, and on the other for about a year. Haven't experienced or heard a need for a different housing.
By the way, you can pick up a 80/100 watt bulb at a NAPA auto parts store for about 9 bucks.
I am running the 80/100 bulb with ceramic plug on my Road King. I can't speak to the E-Code glass, but just the bulb is STUPID BRIGHT, albeit not DOT legal. I have heard great things about the reflector, but have yet to try it. I have done many, many side by side comparisons with my little 9 dollar bulb against both the HID ebay setups, and well as the whop-dee-do MOCO LED bulb, and my light is as bright or brighter than MOST of them on low beam, and even a bit brighter than any on high beam. Countless people will no doubt jump on this thread to defend there very expensive alternatives, but I stand by my statement. I have been thinking about the reflector as well, but just haven't tried it yet. Please let us know your results.
I had same bulb different mfg and the bulb wasn't long enough for the bulb cover thing to cover over it. Super bright but threw light everywhere including tree tops

Well it's much better than stock bulb or piaa. my only problem is the napa bulb burns halogen yellow doesn't look the best with my custom dynamics halo led signals. I see hella makes a 80/100w optilux extreme bulb? Any good
