The fuel moto is interesting. For what the dealer wants to charge, I can get the 117 from fuel moto, installed. Now I have to do more digging. I have an appointment with the shop this weekend to configure my build. I'll have to see why they are so much higher than fuel moto.
I don't know where you are located in Illinois, But Fuelmoto is located in Little Chute, WI, about 170 miles North of Chicago.
WOW.......Dealer selling a bike and they have absolutely no info on it....I think I'd tell them to go pound salt.... These aren't the old days where ya had to wait a long time and get on a list for a bike. There are alot of good bikes to be gotten. I'd be a little worried with the lack of information. Whats that Latin thing, "Carpe Diam....Let the buyer beware" Just my thoughts. Good luck.
Why would you expect a dealer to have a complete history on a trade-in? By the way. Caveat emptor = Buyer beware. Carpe diem = Seize the day. Carpe piston = Seize the engine?

I knew it was something like that.......Always good to know Krustee has my back......oh, by the way.....Nice to meet ya Krustee.
I really don't think the Dealer would have a complete history, but would expect them to have some information. Didn't seem like they had any. Unless your buying a junker, they should still have some facts of the bike. Just my opinion, Guess I have never really shopped for a Used bike from a Dealer, probably equate it to looking for a used car at a Dealer, and even though it's used, there is alot of information on it.

Nice to meet you too. Don't take much of what I say seriously. Just thought everyone expecting the dealer to know what modifications may have been done
by the former owner was a bit much. If you've ever traded in a car or bike, they don't really ask you anything about the history. They are more concerned with making a sale.

Probably not the work done outside a dealer,, but I am thinking any work done by a HD Dealer is in a computer somewhere matched to a bikes Vin No., IF so then I'd think that info could be retrieved..
anyone else know if that'd be true?

from what I have researched lots of people like fuel moto. I would like to get my electra glide ultra limited to the 100 horse power mark. doing the stage 1 this spring and am going with power vision and jack pot headers from fuel moto. already got the arlen ness big sucker.
I just bought a 2011 FatBoy from the stealer and they say they have no info on the bike. All they say is "what you see is what you get". The bike is in great shape and runs great but that's all I can tell. It obviously has a Stage I because I can see the Rineharts and Screamin Eagle intake.
It's not a real smooth start like stock bikes and it definitely has some gitty up, so I'm wondering what else has been done. Is there any way to guess what's been done other than ripping it apart?
If it has had a cam upgrade, you should notice a "loping" when idle... Not sure how to describe it, but if you've heard it before you know. Also, you can feel the cam kick in (at whatever rpm it should) when shifting through gears. Just a thought

I compared the FM build to what I was quoted and there is a significant difference. The FM build does not include head work, a new TB and few other items. I compared the Dynos of the two builds and if they're telling me the truth (which I have no reason to doubt since they have a bike they did this on and offered to let me take it for a ride), I should be pushing 125 hp and over 100 ftlbs of torque at 2500 rpm.

I definitely don't have the "loping". I remember hearing it on some custom bikes.
