Just bought a windshield for my 96 Heritage Softail from a forum member. I never had a windshield before and I have questions. Does the bike already have the place it should be mounted? I know it may sound stupid but I just don't know

 

assuming its a detatchable verson....yes, but you need the mounting hardware. bolts to the existing holes.

 

You have to buy a docking kit if you want the detachable windshield. Then, it's just a matter of removing a couple bolts and replacing with the kit hardware. My windshield literally takes 20 seconds to install. I like doing local rides without it, but if its cold or I am on the highway, I really like having it on.
