What about the Freedom Performance Union 2-1?, how does it perform on the dyno compared to the D&D Fatcat, or the Vance and Hines pro-pipe?, also can anyone upload a good sound clips of the Union?
Performance wise??? I love my D&D Fatcat....but honestly the sound at idle leaves something to be desired, for me. But get on it and its mean and loud..of course I've done some engine mods
Another vote for the D&D Fat Cat here. The Fat cat is of good quality, makes great power and has an awesome distinct sound that turns most peoples heads. The pipes are built down the street from my shop and we install a lot of them, all to very pleased customers.
I have a D&D fat cat on my FXSTB and it performs great and sounds good too. Another one that makes good power is the Thunderheader, but to me those are as ugly as a toothless hillbilly ginger woman..
Glad to see all the positive performance reviews of the D&D FatCat. Wasn't familiar with it until very recently, and from all the 2 into 1s I've seen, it's the best looking one by a fair margin. Nice to get performance and looks in one package...
I've never even heard of the fat cats before I found this thread. Hopped on YouTube and listened to them. They sound great, nice deep tone like my '67 Firebird. A bit pricey but if they can increase the performance, it may be worth the $$$.
Anyone compare the performance numbers on all the pipes? I was pretty sold on the Bassani until I heard these. Any comparison would be appreciated.
From a power standpoint D&D and Bassani are pretty damn close. Both companies spend a lot of dyno time developing their pipes to make power. You can't go wrong with either one, I just happen to like the look of the D&D better.
I had the D&D's on a bagger, and loved them. Pretty damn loud, but they had an excellent sound. I went with RSD/V&H on my Slim, though, because I wanted a certain look. I can't compare the power between them, because the D&D was added to the bagger the same time I did motor work, and my Slim just has a Stage 1. Very happy with both exhaust systems.
