I did motor work but originally had samson true duals. I changed to the Fatcat and went from 76 hp to 98hp and tq 92 to 106 TQ on the same build.

How does the sound and heat compare between these two? I haven't had the chance to hear the RSD/V&H in person. Did see a comment somewhere that the heat on the the foot is substantial, do you find that to be the case?

I've also got a slim and looking to do a stage 1, thanks in advance.

Here is another vote for the D&D Fatcat. Love the sound and look of mine. It was on the bike when I bought it so I cant comment on before and after performance.

I switched to the D&D Fat Cat about 5 years ago, after a lot of research and have not been sorry.

You guys don't drag with the fatcat? Was behind someone the other day with one and it was hella close to scraping just turning right at a stoplight. Cant imagine on a lowered fatboy how close that would be to scraping.

they look too low to me also. Probably not the one if you want to lower the rear end by a bit.

You can draw out what look you want it to have, buy an exhaust builders kit, take the drawing and the kit to a good welder. Then you will have what you want....& probably cost far less.

I have not done this with my Softail...I like the look of the Samsons, and am not sacrificing much performance because the the TTI's

But I did do this with my Sporty and it has the look and sound I want. If the sound is too loud, for short $ you can get a baffle that will fit in there.

The two clips below give you an idea of the sound you can get-

Sporty is the 2nd to last one in this clip-

It was a toss up between Fat Cat and the Road Rage for me. Fat Cat won only because my wife found a used one with 2 diff mufflers on ebay and got it for my b day. Very happy with the sound and performance. I had big radius 2 into 2 that these replaced. I picked up about 8hp/8tq in the 3500-4500 range. Took a while to like the sound at idle, but love it now.

I love my D&D Fat Cat. It sounds great, helps performance, and dragging it keeps me from wearing down the floor board and highway bar. Yeah, the Heritage has poor lean angle to begin with. Freaks me out scrapping the exhaust.
