If it is just the head stripped out take a torx bit that is just over sized and drive it into head with a hammer and should work to back it out. I have done that a few times now. Then just buy a new bolt to replace old one then.

+1 to ^

If you are concerned you may ruin a torx tool, or if it's not an allen hex bolt then use an easy out.

Sometimes a left-handed bit and a drill that can drill left handed is all you need. Many times the act of drilling it this way will back it out. Just make sure you do what you can make sure it's easy. Such as liquid wrench or some other lube. Even some heat around the bolt will help.

Sometimes, if there is enough bolt exposed on the back side, you can get two nuts on it and turn the outside nut against the inside nut (acting as a jam nut) in the correct direction to back the bolt out a little; allowing you to use pliers or whatever. It's a stretch but I did that with a broken bolt for the passenger floorboard and it was surprisingly easy.

Tack a nut onto the end, if you have a welder.

It may have Loctite on the threads. Loctite makes a release type agent. Good luck.

I have a set of those bolt and nut removers at work and use them all the time they work great!! on the bolt if it is for the rear fender brace those are 3/8 bolts I beleave so use the next size up drill and drill off the head and take the brace off and grab the threaded part that is sticking out with vise grips and turn the remaining part of the bolt out.

Good luck with your mom dude. Bolt is the least of your issues, that's easy to take care of.
