Is there any chance one of you guys with the Chubby apes could give me a frontal pic like the one below of the bars and risers? I don't need the cover removed
like in the pic (I had just installed poly bushings).
I believe this is the route I want to go. Thanks
Did you hire a photographer? I'm fixin' to put some black Flanders 12.5" on my fatboy once the Chrismas bonus rolls in. Did you install yourself or pay? If paid how much?
Echo6 Sierra, I've thought about flipping my mirrors to try it out but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'm gonna give it a try and see what I think.
GreatScott, tmac00333, Those are nice looking bikes. The apes aren't only more comfortable but they also make the bike look awesome.
atrox88, Here are some pics I took for you tonight. I went with Wild1 1.5" risers and 1pc top clamp because it's the exact same width as the 1" section of the bar so you can't really tell it's 1".
TheCarpenter, No I took the pics myself with my Iphone. That one pic was just photo shopped using the Snapseed app on my phone. I paid a local shop down the road from me to install everything and extend the wiring harness. It was $270 but the owner was needing a custom knife sheath made to carry a SOG Seal Pup in his vest so I made him a kydex sheath for $20 so it only cost me $250 cash and an hour of my time.
With all the shiny chrome on the bike I decided to change the factory dash since it has that pebbled kind of finish to it. So this weekend I installed a HD low profile dash to give the bike an updated look. Since I was updating the dash I also went ahead and updated the fuel gauge and cap as well with the HD flush fit gauge and cap. I'm really loving the looks of it and the flush fit gauge and cap go perfectly with the dash. The swap was easy to do and the instructions were clear and easy to understand. I'd highly recommend these parts for anyone looking to give their bike a makeover. I think it really compliments the new bars and gives the bike a more modern look.
Oh she's lookin' better and better! What pn is the dash? Do they make it in black?
Thanks.
The part number is 71208-07. I ordered it from http://www.kutterharleyonline.com/ because it was $55 cheaper than ordering it from Harley Davidson. Not sure if they make it in black or not. If they do, I've never seen one. I know they maker the flush fit fuel gauge and cap in black though.
Also love throw the bars center width is the same as the triple tree, I don't care for bars that are wider at the base than the forks.
I agree. I think the Wild1 Chubby apes match the Fatboy perfectly. I wanted to give it a more modern appearance but still keep that old school look to it.
Next I want to add a Dakota Digital speedometer to it but I have to make sure it'll fit in the new dash since it's more low profile now.

Thanks for the extra pics. That's the look/width I was hoping for. The dash looks great!
