Default Fuel Tank

92 FLSTC dual tanks.I was riding the other day and it started to stall as I throttled it,.Approached an incline and it died.I backed it down and attempted to restart it.No go.I checked the tanks and there was some fuel .,but not much.I checked the valve for correct position.Pushed it a block up up the street and had a buddy lookat it.. Learned a new trick .If its low on fuel and on an incline, fuel doesnt reach the valve.Level it out and lay it on its left side for a minute or so ,and gas will drain from right to left . Also I have been told contradicting fuel valve **** positions. There is an arrow on the long part of the handle pointing in the direction away from the long section. The handle downward and arrow pointing up to the on position.Make sense ? I was told that this actually in the reserve position .Comments ?.Wish I could draw a picture .Their way seems wrong .Or am I ?

I've always used the arrow to point at the selection that I wanted, reserve, main etc.
