Twin Cam in an Evolution frame
Hi guys, new to the forum, I searched the forum here and found a few old posts about sticking a Twin Cam engine in an Evolution frame. I am just wondering if anyone actually finished their bike? I have a Standard Softail frame that I stuck an early Twin Cam engine in. I bought a Thunder Heart stand alone ignition system for it and now want to buy the adaptor plate. I looked on Ebay and they have so many, starting from about 80 bucks up to a couple hundred. Everything from no name to S&S, is there any difference really in these? Have any of you guys made your own? I have the Evo trans, everything seems to line up ok thus far, is there any off set that I should be planning for? In there off set in the trans, wheel or engine that I should know about? I have a very small budget, it's my first Harley, always had metric bikes and always wanted to ride a Standard, but couldn't ever afford one with all the things life threw at me. I have about $500.00 into this build so far, very impressive right, lot's of chasing deals, wheeling and dealing and many hours spend online getting jerked around by fools. I am so close to having this thing running and ready to ride, just this last hurdle and I will be rocking. I would have went with an Evo but couldn't find one, and the ones I did find were big money and needed lots of work. If any of you have done thins could you share some info and pictures please. Thanks guys, look forward to see and hearing about what you got.
