I want to thank everybody who encouraged me to wrench on my own bike. I went bought the service manual $55.00. Bought the HD oils, bike lift and couple toolsI didnt have. Needless to say, all of the oil, wrenches and bike lift was under $150.00. I was able to change my oil and filter. Change my primary oil and installed new skull derby cover, and changed transmission fluids also.
To any thinking of doing this service on your own. It was not difficult at all. I have very little wrenching experience and everything went fine. I would recommended picking up the manual. It helped tremendoulsly.
Congrats, you have just proven to yourself thatsimple routine maintenance is just that, simple.
If you keep it up you'll find that even the more involved stuff isn't all that hard.
You just have toread themanual, get the right tools, and take your time.
You'll make mistakes at first, everyone does, only fools don't admit it.
But if you take your time and understandwhat your trying to doyou'll make a lot less.
Good job monsterdeluxe...working on your own bike is not rocket science! Now you need to save your $$$ for HD accessories and HD tools! Your wife is gonna' love it!
