I'm picking up my new, 2014 softail slim tomorrow and couldn't be more excited. It's also my first Harley and my first new bike. I know a few softail and slim owners locally, but wanted to hop into the forum to see what mods people recommend, what issues people find, and other model specific information.
I chose this bike because I love the clean look and because of the low center of gravity. I'm a smaller rider and it's a challenge finding bikes that don't give me a huge workout just to park them. I can't wait to ride my new bike, but I'll have to wait a few months for the Alaskan winter to ease.
I look forward to learning more here and thank you all for sharing your experiences and knowledge.
And here's a picture of the new girl. I think she's gorgeous already, but I'm sure I'll want to make changes to make her mine.

cpc0812 - I love the color more and more the more I look at it. It's their "Daytona Blue" and you get some really nice variation depending on the way the light hits it, from a deep blue to almost green, depending. Very nice and I think it looks particularly good with the slim's styling.
Sweet ride bro! Congrats and welcome to the STF. There are plenty of wicked custom softail slims in this forum. Check out the "calling all slims" thread.
Beautiful!
Love the color - good choice in bikes too.
I'm super happy with mine and I bet you will be too!
I've included a photo to show some of the mod possibilities....
Congrats and enjoy!!
