It has been delivered
Well, my 2005 Softail Standard (FXSTI) arrived at Alamo City HD.
My wife and I fly there on the 24th. We signed up for a Rider's Edge course as a refresher. Might as well, it came free with the bike, and will help with insurance and licensing.
Hopefully, I can pick it up and do some "permit" riding before I finish the class.
Sorry, just had get that out there.
I will be sure to post pics as soon as I pick it up.
I already have a huge list of "upgrades" for it. My wife says, "why didn't you just buy the bike you wanted?"
She bought her brother's sportie and it is already fairly customized.
I guess that means that I can put a solo seat on the Standard now.

I know where you are coming from...with the standard you get to make the bike "your own" with customizing it to your tastes, not someone elses. And besides... isn't this the bike you really wanted?....wifes are so silly some times. Could she be jealous? lol.... enjoy and keep the rubber down.

I get in to town on the 24th. I plan on going to the dealer on the 25th just to look at it.
Then, on Monday, it is off to the DMV to get my DL and Permit. Rider's edge on Thur-Sunday, then back to the DMV on Monday.
Oh yeah... and I have to look at some houses in there to find a place to live. But I think that everyone here will agree... that takes a backseat to picking up the new bike.
