Default Motorcycle Jacks

Does anyone have a good lead on a motorcycle jack? I got a great one from Sears, rated at 1500#s but the darn thing won't fit under my Softail or Nightster. Go figure, I never thought to measure the minimum height I needed before buying the thing and tossing the receipt. Thanks.

Default fix??

My 2011 Deluxe lower than my 2004 Heritage. Now I put two rectangular pieces of thick plywood 1" maybe in front of both wheels and roll it up on them. Jack just fits.

My guess is you bought the Sears red jack. I have the Sears yellow jack and it rolls under my Heritage without a problem.

I had the Sears red jack and it fit under my Heritage if the bike was upright.

I liked the Sears red jack a lot but I wanted to be able to hang the jack on the wall and it was just too heavy.
I came across a used Sears yellow jack and it not only is light enough to hang it fits under my Heritage with it on the jiffy stand.

Just get you a 2X6 and roll the front tire onto it and that should give you enough clearance for the jack.

Do you put any spacers under the frame so that the the jack does not push on the shocks?
I have the red jack and a pair of scissor jacks and I use a 3/4" piece of rubber under the frame to keep pressure off of the shocks.

I had a lowered deluxe that my jack wouldn't go under so I took a piece of 2x8 about 16''long and cut a 45 degree angle on the front of it making a ramp. I screwed a piece of 1x2 across the back for a stop and it worked like a charm.

I have the Sears red as well, and I found that with my Slim I had to stand the bike upright with one hand while sliding the jack under with the other - either that or get some help.
It was a tight fit but it fit, barely.
Now with a Shotgun that problem has gone away...
