Default Sundowner seat

I bought a sundowner seat for my fatboy, but it moves me forward an inch. My question is can I use the seat tabs from my old seat to move me back to my original seating position. I thought I could just drill out the pop rivets and re pop rivet the tabs to the new seat. Any one done this and can it be done as I don't want to ruin a new seat.... any advice appreciated.
Thanks

seems like the front lip of the seat wouldn't fit against the tank correctly, if you moved it back an inch or so.

I put a sundowner on my 07 Fat Boy, and it moved me back about an inch over the stock Fat Bot seat.

If it does not fit you, can you take it back?

I bought a sundowner seat for my fatboy, but it moves me forward an inch. My question is can I use the metal seat tabs from my old seat and put them on the new seat. I thought I could just drill out the pop rivets that hold the metal tabs on the the old seat and re pop rivet the metal tabs to the new seat. It fits the bike good and I really like the seat. also I like the way is supports my lower back but at the same time it has moved me up an inch towards the tank. Maybe it just needs breaking in
Thanks for all the advice

Had the same issue with a Sundowner on my '13 Fay Boy Lo. I spoke with the folks at Mean City Cycles and sent it off to them for the memory foam mod and move the seating position back 1 inch. Very happy with the result. Super comfortable and the seating position is just right. Those folks know how to work a seat.
