I have a quick question. I recently swapped out my tail light. After the swap I noticed my turn signals were not always on like the front and are only activated when I hit the left turn or right turn switch. Issue is im not sure if they were ever always on like the front. I hope I didn't confuse too many people. Thanks for the help.
On stock bikes, the front turn signals are running lights (ie always on) and turn signals. The rear turn signals are only turn signals. So, as you noted, they were likely never on like the front signals.
To make the rear turn signals running lights, brake lights and turn signals, you need one of these.
1998 FXSTS. I'm fine with them being signals only. I just wasn't sure if I dickered something up. I had to take apart the connector and pull the wires to swap out my tail light housing. Thank you sir and I may consider that Aux light setup in the future.

Glad to help. I'd say that as long as everything is working correctly then you did just fine. The Softail Springer is a great bike.
