remember the seat has a part in how tall bars should be. some seats move you down and back making the taller bars a far reach. i am short with tall bars but i have a spring seat that moves me up so i can reach them fine.
just want to throw my 2 cents in the bucket again bl66. as stated, keep in mind that caralinis run high especially if you go with the 1.5" diameter. im like 5' 11- 6' 1" depending on what convence store im leaving and i went with the 14" 1.5" diam caralini gangster apes. You spoke about rolling them out to make your arms extended so i wanted to say look at the shape of the bar. with some of the caralini's if you roll them forward to much you get a really bad angle on your wrists. I have longer arms for my height so i planned on rolling them forward and i thought the gangster worked best for that. in the what i call "sharp angle" bars i feel like the evil or menace will roll forward the best.
Here's my Breakout with Burleigh High Ball 14" bars and CVO risers fitted. I'm 5'8" and find the length of these apes PERFECT! Makes the handling of the Breakout way better IMO.
Your right, there sure are some nice ones here. I originally bought 16" Gangsters and as I was just getting ready to put them on at my buddies shop and a guy rode up with the exact same thing I was getting ready to do. I asked if I could sit on it, he said sure and boy was that close. Way to tall for me. Carlini was nice enough to let me switch them out with a 14" set because they had not been installed yet. Fits me perfect with a 1" rise. Im 5"10" Good luck Dude and keep us posted.
EDIT: I like the evil apes too, just not for my bike. Running every thing through them was out of the question.
