Default Project Breakout

Well my project is finally under way. I purchased my breakout in Nov. I have been studying my service manual, I've been trolling this forum for great ideas, and I've been just staring at the bike to try and decide which direction I want to go with it. I've got my first batch of parts in so now it's time to put the wrenches to work. I have decided to post this project on this forum 1. because on some of my past bikes I never had any before and after pics and have always regret it, 2. I am attempting to do all of the work myself on this one and I think having the project on here will give me something to look back on and be proud of, and 3 the members on this forum seem to be pretty supportive of these threads. I won't go into any detail up front I will just post as I go because I am sure I will change directions multiple times on this project. I welcome all comments and suggestions both good and bad.

This is the way she looked when I brought her home.

You should post in the "Breakout" section. Won't get much action here in "Forum Issues"

And this is where I am today. Started the breakdown. Removed some parts for powder coating and hopefully today will be working on rocker box replacement and cam install. Only hit a few snags so far but making pretty good progress. Main snag was removing oil tank. What a PITA that was. I only hope I can reinstall it without a hitch.

Damnit I didn't realize I was posting in forum issues. I will move there. If an admin can delete this that would be great.

Well, you are in the correct section now, and I am interested to see what the future for your bike will look like.

Thank you for moving this thread for me. Let's hope I do better with the bike than I do with computers.

Today's update.
Completed the teardown of the top end.

The cams have been installed. I went with SE 204s. I did quite a bit of research and I believe it is e best cam for me. Not fantastic in any area bet nice performance all around. For my riding style I'm pretty excited.

I went with the burst collection for the cam cover. I will be going with burst for rocker box covers as well. Hopefully tomorrow I will have the top end put back together with the new parts the new transmission top cover and the oil tank reinstalled.
