Well hit my next little snag today. The Harley parts book said the burst rocker box covers would not fit my bike but I just didn't believe it. My parts guy and I looked up the OEM part numbers and they are the same for all twin cam 103's sowe thought for sure they would fit and I had seen a breakout online with the burst rocker box covers so I just knew they were going to fit but they do not. The burst rocker box covers are thicker and there is not enough clearance between the rockers and the frame to put them on. So you win some and you loose some. Lucky for me my local Harley dealer is open on Sunday and they had the gloss black covers in stock. So this was my first change in direction. I'm a little bummed the burst did not work but I believe things are shaping up nicely. I used the billet lifter covers and black pushrod covers. I think it creates a great contrast. I'm going to be using lots of black but want to keep some chrome for contrast.

I'm a little reluctant to say just yet. When I get it all put together if she starts right up than I would say it wasn't too bad. I used the service manual, watched some you tube videos and utilized several threads on this forum for resources. As you can see I'm taking my time.

Thanks everyone for the responses. Things are coming along nicely. Now it's back to the grindstone so I probably won't have anything to add until next weekend.
