Go by the number.
Too true. My "Red Loctite" turns out to be Loctite Super Glue Ultra Liquid Control, and my "Blue Loctite" is the Loctite Super Glue Ultragel control. The bottles ARE red and blue, but I'm thinking the results aren't going to be right. I haven't done a lot with either. Wonder if I need to try to take off and redo everything I've done?

I would not use red on normal bolt on stuff. I put it on forward controls one time(not realizing) and they wouldnt come off. So they stayed on as the bike was traded in. I've read on this forum that a soldering gun on the bolt will heat it enough to break loose, but luckily have not had to try it.

I have a heat gun that goes up well over 1000f and nothing has stood up to it yet. On Loctite's website, they say red is good up to 550f, so that makes sense. On a lighter note, my version of "red" is dishwasher safe, so I have that going for me.
