Engine shutdown at 70!

Bike had been warmed up for about 10mins. It was about 5 deg C outside. I was 10 mile into my ride to work and the bike completely shutdown on me. The engine warning light flashed a couple of times, so I stuck her neutral and pulled over. Shut everything off, restarted and she purred all the way the rest of the journey (65 miles). Anyone had this happen to them. Any idea what it may be? Is it a dealer question.

Any suggestions will be gratefully recieved

What bike you got, carb or EFI? I had the exact same thing happen to me on a rented, carbed Duece. Going about 60mph and it suddenly died. After I rolled to a stop, it started right back up again. I thought vapor lock?

This happened to a friend of mine on a RoadGlide. It was the aftermarket ignition module he was using.

There is an off chance that this could be caused by a loose battery cable connection. Doesn't cost anything to check, especially the frame end of the ground cable. If it rattles around a little, just enough to cause some voltage spikes, it wull cause the ignition module to reset.
