Ran the Dunlops once. very soft and wore out kwick. best experience is Metzelers 880 but the 888's are supposed to get better mileage without giving up ride and handling.
I've got right at 10k per my first (4) LOP's 401 on the rear and ride 2 up 90% of the time.
But at 40k I tried set of Mich Comm II's.. now with 11k on it, it still has 4/32 left.. which is better But WAY short of their claimed 2X miles.
next I'll try either the new GEN 3 Lops ELite or the 880 Bridge..
90% 2up riding on my 2011 Heritage OEM Dunlop 401 rear, 7500 miles, could have squeezed another 1000 miles. Installed a Metzler 888 reenforced tire. I got 8500 miles out of it and also got a rough ride and a uneasy "slippery" feeling when I set into a curve. I'm going back to the 401, good ride, good in rain, good in corners and predictable. Also installed a Triple 8 on the front and can't get it not to shake, balanced twice, spokes checked, installed ride on, adjusted head bearings, replaced axle bearings, still shakes. IMHO junk tire, going back to the Dunlop 402 on the front. I will sacrifice miles to get a tire that rides well, balances well and feels right.
