I believe all Softails come set up for riders up to 180 pounds. Adjust your rear shock. The front shocks are not harsh to me and seem almost too soft.

No way a rigid framed bike can ride better than a bike with shocks.

Been there and done that with struts and low air in the rear tire. I had a Cadillac ride due to 2 inch springs under the solo saddle. Adjust the shocks, made a difference for me.

I also have the 422's on mine. Rides really well. They were worth the money.

I also have a 2013 Deluxe, I'm 185lbs and right off the floor it was setup perfect on the rear. I agree with the above posts about the front end being as soft as puppy **** when you hit the brakes though, would be nice to upgrade that to squash that issue....overall, its a damn comfortable ride!

Didn't have any problem with the rear, but replaced it for air so I could vary it for motorway and twisties riding. The front shocks are awful though; really really soggy and dive under the lightest of front braking.

A few things nobody has mentioned yet. The Deluxe has a lowered suspension. That means the rear hidden shocks do not have as much travel as some of the other Softail models. They will bottom out easy especially if not adjusted properly. The front forks can be made firmer or softer by changing the oil in them. Thicker fork oil (say 15W) will stiffen them up. Thinner fork oil (say 5W) will make them softer. It's just that simple.
