Also, make sure you get the right length. They have 3 different lengths. I didn't pay attention and just bought what I seen. Didn't fit my stock FXST tube since my tree had different spacing between the top and the bottom. Accutronix also has an eBay store that they put up their clearance stuff. I was able to get my buddy a set of the black elite tubes for like $30 last year.
I had already ordered it by the time I saw this post. You gotta order by phone and I just took the guys word for it that it would fit but it's too damn long. This is becoming a pain in my *** to try and black out these tubes.
Just made a set of these for 2009 Sportser Iron. 1-1/2" PVC worked great. To keep them from wiggling (what little space there was) I wrapped the bottom of the pipe with a round or two of hockey tape. Fit snug as a bug in a rug.
This might be my last resort. It's a time thing for me though. I'm not sure when I'd find time to take it apart and get it all fitted. If I can buy parts instead that would work much better since I've gotta get my fork seals fixed in a couple weeks.
It took surprisingly little time. Just measured before disassembling, cut pipe, drilled holes, wet sanded, and sprayed with krylon fusion. Sprayed around 4 or 5 coats waiting 15 minutes between coats.
