I have a 1995 Harley Davidson Fatboy. I just bought an 18" x 3.5" rear wheel, and a Metzler 150/80 18" tire. I am about to start swapping out the old 16" x 3.5" rear wheel for this new combination. How much work am I in for? Will it all fit under the stock rear fender, which is approximately 6" wide? Has anyone here done this?

I suspect that you'll have a clearance problem with the stock belt. Harley got a 150 under that fender in 2004 but that was the year they introduced the 1" belt instead of the 1 1/2" belt your bike runs. Worst case, there are 1" belts available that will fit your '96 pulleys.
Hey with time and money, pretty much everything is possible! Good luck.

Wouldn't the pulley rub against the swing arm if it the belt wouldn't clear it?
So far the tire has been mounted to the rim, balanced, and ready to go.... should be able to report back soon!
There is a little side to side room on the front pulley in case the belt is riding farther to the left now. Make certain that when you spin the wheel, that the belt rubs neither edge of either pulley. (Curious to see if this works!)
Didn't you research first? Could have saved a lot of headaches.
I sure did. The problem was that everyone and every source was saying something different. Some said I needed a wide tire kit, and some said it was a direct bolt on with limited modifications. Thankfully I am happy to report that it fit with no issues. It is very tight, but looks awesome and really changes the feel of the bike compared to the mag wheel.
