Got a question for all of you out there. I've been perusing eBay for a siren to add to my '05 Deluxe. I have the factory alarm system so no problem there. My question is are all the HD sirens the same and the bracket essentially is the difference which determines which bike it can be mounted to?

I don't see many for a softail but see quite a few at times for the Dyna so I was wondering if I could just buy the one for the Dyna and adapt it to my bike. Sometimes these things are selling for half of the cost of new from HD.

Let me know your thoughts, thanks.

No, they are not all the same.
Sometimes it is the fit, sometimes it might be the plug jack or the electronics.

Check with HD's website for part numbers and stop in at your local dealer for a look at the parts manual if you are too cheap to buy one.

Neither of my sirens came with a bracket. One went on an 06 Ultra and one went on an 03 Heritage both were the same part.

And if you take a few minutes to do just a little bit of checking on the HD site you will see the following information.

Smart Siren II Part Number 68328-06

Fits '02-'07 VRSC™, '04-'07 Dyna™, '03-'07 Softail® and '02-'07 Touring models
