It says it fits 2103 Slim but not 2014. Perhaps the housing is different between the two years but I did not think so. Like the idea of using a battery over splicing.
I bought the Flash To Pass Garage Door Opener from the dealership. Yeah it's expensive but I'm not keen on soldering. Tt works extremely well and was not difficult to install. The hardest part was fishing the one wire under the tank but that only took 4 or 5 tries and it was through.
Personally, I would have bought that brake reservoir lid controller that someone else posted earlier..... but at least with what I got, I won't ever need to worry about changing remote batteries.

It has been 5 years so far and I have never had to change the battery. I managed to take it off the Street Bob before it disappeared into Scrap land.
Maybe need to go with a key fob size garage opener
I ordered the Hog Pen front brake cylinder lid type with the button.. Figured it would be cool but only now I noticed the bolt pattern for my Slim is North South opposing the Hog Pen Cover is offset like most HDs.
So as I am logging into Amazon to canx I get a message that says it shipped.
So I start looking at the Grip Switch but the website says it fits 2013 Slims but not 2014. Bummer.
So it looks like I am back to splicing into a wire or hiding a key fob size opener on the bike.
If anyone is hiding a small key fob size remote any specific info on model and where you hide it would be appreciated..
Going with the HD garage door opener. Any one else done it?
Could not make my mind up of which after market garage door opener to get. Decided on the HD version, which of course cost the most. For the Softail Slim it says to remove the rear splash guard and per service manual. I have not spent the $60 on a manual. Hopefully removing it is obvious. Anyway for most models HD says put the opener up near the headlight, but not for the Softail. Not enough room I guess.
It says zip tie it to the harness located between the frame, rear fork and rear tire. As long as the splash guard come off easy the install does not look like much. Well you have to lift the tank up to get high beam wire that runs under the tank. I guess you can not get to in the battery area.
If anyone has done this any info you care to share is welcome!
I have a flash2pass on my Ultra. I think it is the same as the Harley one (not sure). Anyway, I used it on my 2007 Softail custom by mounting it in the headlight can. Works fantastic.

Installed one in my 06 RK. It worked first time every time. Would like to install it down on lower frame harness as it directs if taking the splash guard off is no biggy. Not sure yet.
Found a online PDF of the service manual for $9.00.. Looks there is just one allen head bolt/screw holding it on. Should have the HD garage door opener on soon... woo hoo!

Just a little helpful advice on your install..... you do not need to lift or remove the tank. I took a piece of chicken wire and put some duct-tape on the end (so it would scratch the paint to hell underneath) and fished the wire through that way. It took about 5 or 6 tries before it took the route I wanted it to take but it did work. Go through from the front of the tank and not the back of the tank. If you go from the back you will keep hitting the rubber guard at the front between the frame and the tank..... and it will try your patience like you won't believe! lol
As for the plastic inner fender..... there is one allen-head bolt at the bottom of the guard in the middle. If you run your hand down there you will feel it. A bike stand is handy for this.... once you remove that, the guard will pop out from it's clips.... then just side it up (not down) out of the way. It does not need to come off completely. You can install the little receiver behind the oil tank and route the wiring up through the opening at the right rear area by the seat. Here's a pic of where the receiver sits in my bike. Works flawlessly!
