Honestly, Otter (like I know you lol)...I wish you never would have posted these photos. You can read bullshit pretty easily. You can tell by the subject at hand, and what and how it is being said. For anyone to not believe that you sold your Slim on consignment, for the price the the dealer got, is fuggin' stupid. Remember, people, they are salesmen. AND, if they didn't believe you, as grown men, to call you out on something as trivial is that, is even more fuggin' stupid. I still can't believe the shyte I read on these forums. So entertaining...

I agree. It got under my skin, so I just decided to post up. Notice how none of the people who assumed I was either crazy or lying have manned up to apologize or eat crow. Thanks for the good word.
This is why I don’t contribute or hang out here more. Supposed to be a Harley forum, but it’s full of posers and the mods wont even allow you to stand up for yourself. Walk up to a guy in a biker bar and accuse him of being a liar, I suspect you’ll get a lot more than a few stiffly worded sentences as a reaction. The mods locking that other thread was BS.

I would have responded sooner except the original thread was shutdown for whatever reason, but here I am.
Seems in the other thread I was singled out since I said I didn't think there was any chance you'd get that kind of coin for a used Slim.
As surprised as I still am (hey, it's their money) I will say that you were right and I was wrong about it.
I'm just a little surprised though, that it seems that I actually hurt your feelings over it.
Well, apologies, as that certainly wasn't my intent. I was merely expressing an opinion and frankly I had no idea would it start such a sh*tstorm that would last for a week.
So again like I said, you were right and I was wrong...
I am glad you sold your ride for that price, I know in my area you only get current NADA value regardless of what you put into your ride. My wife traded her 2009 low mileage Heritage and got a beautiful 2014 CVO Deluxe leftover. She did get $7000 off of list and received $10700 for her trade. Your dealer must have a great market for used bikes.

Thank you. Hurt feelings, no. I was a little taken aback by the universal naysaying but I knew it was going to sell, so I just smiled and waited to post up the results when they happened. I didnt get pissed until whats his face basically called me a liar when I came back and posted up that it had sold. If that person had done it to my face itd be settled right there on the spot. I just think in a community that centers itself on respect, things ought to be different around here. Maybe the culture is different in other parts of the country.
So my real question is was there any technical profit in the sale? Based on what you paid for the bike and the ammount you spent on parts (labor not factored if you did your own work). Did you break even or come out on top?
Profit.. I would have to add up receipts, which I've never done, lol. I would say I was within a couple grand of the break-even point, which is amazing really.

I guess I might be missing something, where is the sales receipt for the person that bought the slim? I said it in the last thread that your bike would never sell at that price and all I see from the picture you posted is the sell sheet on your new bike with a check for 1000.00? I still think that the numbers where fudged somewhere, Either that or we all need to take or bikes to your home town dealer and put them on consignment.
