Funny thing about studs is that you only have to like them a little and they grow on you. I am getting the studded leather strip for the petrol tank and I may get the studded pillion and backrest one day.
I agree that you will need a better pillion and backrest for the Deluxe. If I ever get one I would do the same and probably get the windshiled and Deluxe saddlebags which look great. There is a fully kitted Deluxe in the 2005 Harley parts manual whcih looks great...[8D]

I've found that I spend just as much time keeping black walls clean as I do white walls, so you just as well have what you want. Especially if you have a motorcycle lift. That makes it a snap. Get ya' a creeper stool, jack the bike up, have a seat, put the bike in neutral, and spin the wheels...it's easy. By the way, Simple Green is a killer wheel and tire cleaner. Spray it on and leave it for a few minutes, scrub the tires and wheels, rinse off...sparkle, sparkle, sparkle!! [8D]
