I got the 12"mini apes, and contrary to rumors, you need new controls and wiring extensions. Ordered, and should be here tomorrow. Pics when I'm done, thanks for the help looking at the two next to each other atrox88!

My pleasure. Did you get the Harley mini ape kit that comes with the 4" risers?
Yes, I got the kid from Harley. I liked it better than some of the aftermarket bars. The bars are actually very close to the heritage bars, just the risers add the extra height. So far, the dry-fit feels great. I've got them tipped forward a bit...
I went with the LA Choppers 12-14" stainless cable kit and NAMEZ wiring extensions.
...I did have one question though: after putting together my (right?) controls, I had this extra piece (see pic). I haven't found it in the manual and everything seems to be working as advertised...
If I am not mistaken, when you turn that little star **** on the bottom of the switch housing it pushes on that piece and puts tension on the accel/decel cables.

Everything went great! Just a snafu with the wiring...lost my place and had to redo the Deutch connectors. Found out that comparing with the other side is a good way to check too...thanks for all the help gents!
