i also have a very slender face. i wear regular glasses and the optical stores all want to show me kids frames my face is so small. i have wiley x's that i had prescription lenses installed. they are the "echo"s and i get no wind in my eyes at all. and when im on a smaller bike or a bike without a windshield i put the inner foam piece in and the strap on and they stay pat and keep my eye sight perfect with no tearing or anything.
p.s....they do look big on my face but the work so i chose them because i need to be able to see. i had to get the optional frame extenders to have lenses that i can see through because the curved lens messes with my presription
Anything with foam that fits closely around your eyes. I have Wiley x Harley transitional. They were marginal at first. Then I used the strap that came with them. We're like a whole different pair. The strap is where it's at. Holds it snug not allowing air in
a full face helmet is always better on the eyes, but of short trips with my half helmet i wear Oakley flak jackets. they work pretty good, but let more air in than i would like. at some point i would still like something that is made for riding, but these are the best regular glasses I've used.
I realize there are tons of eye protection threads but I have a specific question.. I have a small face.. I bought the Wiley X Airrage Sunglasses and my eyes still get plasted with air and its not comfortable..
any other suggestions or am I just gonna have to deal with goggles?
OP,
I wear a couple different types, the ones I find the best are my wiley X, but they are an older design which are the XL-1, and non prescription they work great with and with out a windshield, but I need to swap them off as I wear bifocals and the wiley Xs are not prescription
But around town behind a windshield or with a full face, or 3/4 helmet with a full face shield I wear my prescription raybans, Which are a design similar to the old style KDs.
Have you tryed KDs?
for me the glasses that work are.
my prescription raybans. (KDs style) but a transitional that I wear either riding or not
Wiley X, xl-1
and the IBeams
I've had difficulties finding the right glasses also, so I can sympathize. I found the key for me was glasses that fit closely around my nose and that the lens area was large enough to keep the air moving around not under. In this realm I've found several that work well for me that you may want to consider; Oakley split jacket w/ wind gasket, Ray Ban Wayfarers, and KD's come immediately to mind. I've got a drawer full of glasses that prove its best to try them on first before buying!
