Default Heritage windshield

The previous owner of my Heritage customized the wind shield on the bike. It is a 13. Does anybody know what the correct height of the stock wind shield is supposed to be ? The factory book lists about 3 different heights.

Thanks,

Bruce

I changed to a 16" recurve from Long Ride Shields because I like to look over the windshield. I couldn't do that on my OEM.

I believe my OEM was 21".......

As far as I'm aware my 09 Heritage has the stock shield and it's 17 3/4" from the headlight opening.
It's the one shown in my signature picture.

I leave this stock shield on for around town, but when on the road I switch over to the my Klockwerks Billboard Flare 20" shield which due to it's size looks a bit odd, but is freaking sweet on the road.
The Klockwerks shield pushes the air about 3" above the 20" shield which takes the wind up and over both my Wife and I.

If I had to choose between the two I certainly choose the Klockwerks shield.
However due to looks as noted I keep the stock shield most of the time.

Thanks for the reply's guys !!!! I really do appreciate the information !!
I measured a new Heritage today, and that was 18 inches. I just did not know if they changed the size of the wind shield recently or not. I called a number of people and they did not know,

Maybe 10 or 15 years ago I would have done that, but now I am too old to be taking June bugs in the forehead or chest. Thinking back, I do not think I liked it back then either. LOL

Or cut it down and get wind on the upper half of the body but don't feel like you are being pulled off the bike at 70 mph.

I'm in the cut down corner, I can't stand the stock windshield, the top is right on my line of sight and the curvature distorts my vision. I wish it was either taller or shorter it just doesn't work for me.

That is the exact reason I cut down my shield. It caused a lot of buffeting on my helmet and was hot as hell blocking the wind. Now it is just right

The height of the shield should come up to the bottom of your nose so that you are just looking over the top of it not thru it.
