If you like the Heritage, get it.

I have owned both, currently have the Heritage. Only thing the RK has that I miss on the Heritage is a cruise control.

I like the ride of the Heritage much more...and I prefer twistys to straight roads.

Just scrape the boards and it will grind the metal away and you will have more lean angle...that's what I've done. Also, you could use some trail braking which will unload the rear suspension and give you more lean angle. If the floor board touch down, they will fold up, this will also give you more lean angle.

On the Road King I scraped the floorboards all the time...difference was, when they folded up a bit it was scraping the floorboard mounts...scraping the floorboard mounts is NOT a particularly safe thing to do. On the Heritage the floorboard mounts are different, and I've never scraped them.

Is there a kit for this or a custom setup?

Also, I suppose the break and gear shifter need to altered as well.
Everything (brake, shifter, floorboard, etc.) is mounted by the support brackets - 3 holes per side to frame. Raising it up would mean that your shifter linkage is at a downward angle instead of parallel. It might also require a new rear brake line.

Would this create more leanangle and legroom at the same time?
I am using Cycle Vision's Go Forward floorboard extenders. 2" instead of 3". It makes the floorboards stick out about 10mm per side due to the support bracket.

Extra leg room - yes. Extra lean angle - I'll scrape floorboards if I don't slow down while taking the proper line through the corner / roundabout.

Go with what you love. I just picked up a heritage for riding two up with the wife and some touring. I love the classic bagger look and that is coming from a guy who hasn't been (at least up to now) a Harley fan. First ride with the wife was a 200 mile road trip to a concert. She loved it! I did bring along a throttle lock which I practiced using but didn't really need.

When I want to ride more aggressively, I ride the BMW or one of the two Hondas in the garage which are designed for that. The Harley is the classic Buick but a have a Miata (not literally) for when I want to go fast around corners.

I've had a SGS for a year, never scraped and leaned it pretty good. I test road a Heritage and scraped boards 4 times. Now i like the heritage and deluxe, and if a small scrape on the boards will wear away a little and my getting use to the bike would probably negate the scraping most of the time.

So if i really wanted the heritage or deluxe, and i do like both of them, i'd get it over the RK.

Can't beat the look of either one of them, especially the CVO Deluxe, love it.

But if your a knee dragger get something else.

Somebody gets it even though there will probably be another road King vs heritage thread tomorrow.

Well for me I always lived the Heritage from day one, but could never afford it at the time when I was bike shopping. My first bike was the Dyna Fat Bob, then jumped to a Crossbones and from that I went onto a Blackline.

Then the wife bought me an ultra limited and at the same time I came across an opportunity to flip a crossbones that was a steal of deal that allowed me to finally buy my dream heritage.

I nearly picked up the deluxe but thought no let me stick to what I always loved from the get go. Heritage Morroco Gold 😆

I rode my buddies road king and she is a sweet ride and when customised she can look sweet.

I'm happy with my Heritage and Ultra.

I've got a fatboy, and don't understand how people can get away with not scraping. Perhaps your turns are much wider than over here in the UK, but I probably scrape a handful of times EVERY TIME I ride. We have roundabouts over here (do you call them rotaries?) and that's a pretty much guaranteed scrape if I'm going more than halfway around.

I don't drop knees or scrape pegs when going around corners on a sport bike however, if I take the same lines at the same speeds on my Harley, I am asking for a wreck. Does that make me an aggressive rider because I am an average sport bike rider?
You're right, the mounts don't fold up BUT the boards do fold up.

Road King. You get more bike for the same money. Better frame, 26 degree rake on the front end will handle much better than a Softail. You get more storage options and cruise control. Watch a few police bike riding competition videos. You'll never run a course like that on a softail.

You can also get the death wobble with that better handling bike in a coned out parking lot.
