Anyone used this device to isolate a short ? I have a 98 Fatboy with a short that I am unable to locate, thinking about purchasing.

i want to ak you something i have a 2000 fatboy and im haveing trouble with my bike shutting off and i loose eletrcal the n i get to the side of the road and wait 4 or 5 seconds and it will fire up and take me about 5or 10 miles the it does it again the it might not happen again for a few days or even a month what im asking it do you know what it is?
