2015 FLSTC all stock and just cant take a corner without scraping foot rests and quite a few bottom outs over the bumps in the road.. I only weigh 180lbs so I'm going to a 21 front and that might add an 1 inch to the height but I want to add and inch to the rear or so.. what did you do to get your ride feel where you want it... my fxdc dyna rode better than this thing....tnx..
I found that when I first got my FLSTC I scraped all the time. Then someone here pointed out that the bike has a good lean angle and if you actually lay the bike over in your garage you'll see what they meant. Most people myself included lean the bike over and stay more vertical. Which is what was causing me to scrape, I have been trying to lean my body more in the corners, now I'm scrapeing quite a bit less even though I still do sometimes. But like many on here say "if you ain't scrapein you ain't riding" As far as the soft suspension, I defiantly feel the stock bike is soft.
Make it fun and tap some welder flint into the boards....and let the sparked fly. My new neighbour just moved in and are going to do that to my pipe inserts.
My wife and I used to bottom out the Heritage a lot. Got annoying as crap! But the guys on here suggested adjusting the shocks. Somewhere on here they said that the bike comes set for a rider that is 160lbs. I'll never see that weight again unless I'm sick or something. Once I stiffened up the stock shocks she was right as rain...
I do have plans to add some Progressives in the front and back in the future...
As others have noted; if you are bottoming out adjust your shocks stiffer.
As for scraping; it's not a crotch rocket it's a cruiser and a cruiser isn't meant to corner like a crotch rocket.
Slow your turns down and give yourself more time to enter the turn wider.
As for upgrading the suspension; I suppose shotgun shocks will lift you a little bit over stock but that's not what they were designed for.
They were designed to increase ride comfort and to be able to lower the bike at will.
If you don't want or need to lower the bike then Progressive 422s are a great option to increase ride comfort, however they will not lift you any.
