i have a 03 night train with a 21 and 18 rear with 180 heartland kit and shotgun air ride but want to run 23.what would i have to do and change for a 23
It mounts right up with no special requirements. You'd just need a new fender if you decide to run one. Also, you may want to conciser lowering your front suspension with a drop in kit because the front will sit just a little higher with a 23. My 23er was probably the best thing I've bought for my train. You won't be disappointed.
No you do not need a rake at all. There is more then enough room with the stock trees. On my profile I have pictures of my train with no rake on stock trees with a 23. However, I did lower the front.
I slammed my front end and lowered it 4-4 1/2 inches, which isn't necessary I just like the way it looks. Also, I added race tech gold valves. I was really shocked how well it rode and I'm extremely happy with it.
